Annual Event 2024 - Innovative Surfaces

Morning program: Roundtables with showcases
Afternoon program: Surface technology meets industrial reversable bonding

Surface technology meets industrial reversable bonding

To facilitate the disassembly of components and multilayer systems, required for circular economy, controlled debonding is of high importance. Reversible bonding can be achieved by combining surface treatment technologies with functional additives interacting specifically with one or more trigger systems. However, there are several practical challenges in implementing these techniques, which we will discuss with leading experts.

Due to their advantageous properties, plastics are bonded in many material composites. With regard to recyclability, solutions for de-bonding are therefore also a key issue for the plastics industry when it comes to the reparability or recycling of intelligent systems or recycling of multilayer polymers.
